Lighten Up!

Today we will be celebrating the festival of lights which is Diwali. It is an Indian festival which is celebrated in honour of Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya after an exile of 14 years. On this day we light diyas and burn crackers in joy. We also decorate the house with rangoli & cherish the sweets.

I will tell you a funny story of Diwali when I was 3-4 years old. I along with my parents went to someone's house to wish them Diwali. We were on the terrace. They had kept some crackers there. I picked up a rocket & took it near to a diya (it's something similar to a lamp) and lighted the rocket. It was about to fly with me as I had a tight grip on it. But the elders saw me & saved me. The rocket flew without me on it.💥 My dream of flying was shattered.

I believe Diwali is a festival which unites everyone & spreads happiness. Most of the people burn crackers. As a kid even I loved it, it's a mixture of colors, sound and lights as well as a bit of terror  for people who are scared of fire.💣 Even I was scared of burning crackers, especially with the noise they used to create, but it's a lot of fun. Diwali is all about being yourself & enjoying with family.

This is a rangoli.
